Health insurance brokers offer free advice to consumers

As the world of health insurance becomes more and more complicated, thanks in large part to the health care reform bill, it can be frustrating when trying to understand the many options available.  Many confused and frustrated consumers are turning to free and independent health insurance agents to determine what plans are best for their specific needs.
In The New York Times last week, Lesley Alderman wrote a piece titled: “Getting a Guide for the Jungle of Individual Health Policies”.   Alderman writes of an individual who “got fed up with his escalating premiums, which had reached $13,200 a year.”  However, after working with an independent agent, the once frustrated consumer rehashed: “I’d become cynical about ever finding a plan that actually could work for a self-employed person with a moderate income like myself, let alone a professional ally in finding one”.
